FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- The Fairmont State men's wrestling program welcomes 16 new members to the new team. Combined they have totaled 16 State Championship Medals and 25 State Placement Medals.

Kai Plinski, 125/133, Washington, West Virginia: Kai had a standout career at Washington High School where he was a NHSCA All-American, four-time Regional Champion, four-time WVSSAC State Finalist, three-time WVSSAC State Champion and finished with a career record of 174-13. Kai capped off his career becoming a Fargo All-American finishing 7th in the 126 Greco-Roman Division.

Caiden Harbert, 125/133, West Allegheny, Pennsylvania: Caiden is transferring over from West Liberty University where he saw starting time and placed at multiple college tournaments. In high school, Caiden was a two-time MAC Champion, two-time Section Champion and two-time PIAA State Qualifier and finished with 85 career wins. 

Colton Gillespie, 125/133, University High, West Virginia: Colton had a prominent career at University High School as a four-year starter for the hawks, finishing with a 136-51 record. He was an OVAC champion and two-time runner-up, regional champion and three-time runner-up, and a three-time WV state placer. Colton was a key part of the Hawks winning three WV state championships, one state runner-up finish and two WV state team dual championships.

Aiden Meeks, 125/133, Williamstown, West Virginia: Went to Williamstown high school where he was a two-time state qualifier, a regional champ, a state placer, two-time conference champ, and finished his career with 121 wins. 

Terry Osbourne, 125/133, Ripley, West Virginia: Terry Osborne had a solid finish to his career at Ripley High School, becoming a Cardinal Conference Champion and a WV Division II State Finalist. As a junior, Terry won the Cardinal Conference Championship at 113 pounds and qualified for the WVSSAC State Tournament. He followed that up with a strong senior season at 120 pounds, finishing 31-15 and earning a spot in the state finals. 

Austin Mruk, 133/141, Chartiers-Houston, Pennsylvania: Austin performed highly on both the gridiron and wrestling mat. Austin led his football team in overall tackles and was named all-conference. On the mat, he was an all-section wrestler. 

Luke Kelly, 133/141, Braxton County, West Virginia: Luke was a standout at Braxton County where he was a two-time LKC Champion, two-time Regional Champion and two-time WVSSAC State Placer and finished with a career record of 175-19. 

Blake Ringer, 133/141 East Fairmont, West Virginia: Blake, a local talent out of East Fairmont High School, had a stellar prep career where he was a four-time WVSSAC State Finalist, three-time WVSSAC State Champion, four-time Regional Champion and three-time Big Ten Conference Champion. He finished his career with a 175-18 record. 

Mason Wright, 141/149, Beth-Center, Pennsylvania: Mason had an impressive career for the Bulldogs. Mason was a four-time Section Placer, four-time WPIAL Placer, four-time Regional Placer and three-time PIAA state Qualifier. Mason finished his high school career with 142 wins. 

Shawn Young, 149/157, Weir, West Virginia: Shawn is another transfer from West Liberty where he saw starting time and placed in college tournaments. He was a two-time WVSSAC State Placer and finished runner-up his senior season. 

Moses Eads, 149/157, St. Albans, West Virginia: Moses transfers in from Glenville State where he saw starting time and placed at multiple college tournaments. Moses took 3rd at 149 at the MEC Championships and went 26-6 last year. In high school he was WSAZ Champion and two-time WVSSAC State Champion. 

Owen Collins, 157/165, Chesapeake, Maryland: Owen had a standout career at Chesapeake Senior High School, where he was a Anne Arundel County Champion, Regional 3rd Place Finisher, and MPSSAA State 3rd Place Finisher. Owen finished his high school career with a record of 112-43 and was a key part of 2 team state championship squads. 

Brett Damico, 184/197, Musselman, West Virginia: Brett had a solid prep career at Musselman high school where was a two-time regional finalist, four-time state qualifier, Freestyle State Champion, was named Most Outstanding Wrestler for his team at the State Dual Championships and finished his career with 149 wins. 

Roan Tustin, 197/285, Waynesburg, Pennsylvania: Roan was four-year letter winner for the Raiders and finished with 89 career wins. Roan was a two-time Section Champion, three-time WPIAL Placer and a PIAA State Qualifier. 

Rocko Buffone, 197/285, West Shamokin, Pennsylvania: Rocko was a 3-year letter winner for the Wolves and finished his career with 65 wins. He was also a district placer and member of the football team. 

Eli Makel, 197/285, Waynesburg, Pennsylvania: Eli is transferring over from Edinboro University and saw some starting time. In high school Eli went 124-39 for the Raiders and capped off his senior year going 47-5, Powerade Finalist, Section Champion, WPIAL Champion, and finished 4th in the State. Eli was also a starter for 3 Dual WPIAL Titles and Dual PIAA State Championship. 

"We are extremely excited to welcome them to Fairmont State and we cannot wait to see what they can do for the Fighting Falcons. With Wrestle-Offs on October 17 to kick off the season, there will be some tightly contested weights." Head Coach Gennaro Bonaventura said.
