BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — Fairmont State University dominated West Virginia Wesleyan College on Saturday, securing first place in both the men's and women's team rankings.
Mia Abruzzino led the charge for Fairmont State, capturing top honors in the women's 1000 yard freestyle and contributing to the winning 200 yard freestyle relay team.
Mia Abruzzino took first place in the 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 11:31.42 and added a second-place finish in the 50 Yard Freestyle. She was also part of the winning 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team.
Alicia Perez secured first place in the 200 Yard Freestyle, finishing in 2:10.82. She also placed second in the 500 Yard Freestyle.
Zoe Hoover achieved a first-place finish in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 25.81. She also swam the opening leg for Fairmont State's Relay B, which finished second in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay.
Marra Johnson won the 100 Yard Breaststroke, clocking in at 1:04.22. Additionally, she secured third place in the 500 Yard Freestyle.
Rachel Shryock claimed first place in the 200 Yard IM. She also swam the opening leg of the victorious 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team.

Fairmont State will now turn its attention to the GMAC/MEC Championships. The championships will start on Tuesday, February 10 in Canton, Ohio.
