MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Fairmont State University (1-3) split a doubleheader against Walsh University (3-1) on Saturday, falling in the first game 4-2 but securing a thrilling 13-12 victory in the second.

**Game 1 Recap:**
The Falcons dropped the opener as Walsh took an early lead in the third inning with an RBI double by Brodey Acres, scoring Mason Stoldt, giving the Cavaliers a 1-0 advantage through three innings. In the fifth inning, Walsh extended its lead with a fielder's choice by Brandon Hire followed by Josh Algarin scoring on a stolen base. Fairmont State responded with Cam Cole scoring on a walk by Cameron Moore, closing the gap to 3-1.

The Cavaliers added another run in the top of the seventh inning to hold a three-run advantage. The Falcons managed to score in the seventh as Drew Emrich, who had pinch-hit, walked and advanced on an error before being driven in by a single from Kris Sutton. However, Fairmont State left two stranded in the final frame, ultimately falling by two runs.
