Men's Basketball Primes for Atlantic Regional

FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The Fairmont State University men's basketball is gearing up for the 2026 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Atlantic Regional hosted by Gannon University.

Fairmont State was seeded third in the regional and will face the sixth-seeded Indiana University of Pennsylvania Crimson Hawks in the quarterfinals. The two teams will battle on Saturday, March 14 at 12:00 p.m. at the Highmark Events Center in Erie, Pennsylvania

Fairmont State (26-5) enters the game averaging 90.7 points per game which ranks seventh in all of NCAA Division II. The team also ranks sixth in scoring margin with 16.3 points. Additionally, the Falcons average 39.6 rebounds with a rebound margin of 8.0 which ranks 10th in Division II.

The Falcons are led by Drey Carter who was named D2CCA All-Atlantic Region Second Team and First Team All-MEC. On the season, he has averaged 16.6 points with 7.7 rebounds while shooting .611 from the field which is 15th in Division II.

Miguel Martinez is one of the five Falcons who average double-digit points with 13.1, he also averages 5.1 rebounds and is .774 from the free throw line (41-53). David Jolinder is the third leading scorer on the team with 12.3 points, shooting .491 from the field (139-283) with 4.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest.

IUP (22-7) comes into the game averaging 83.8 points per game while grabbing 37.8 rebounds per game. The Crimson Hawks are a strong shooting team with a field-goal percentage of .466 (862-1849) and converts .746 of their free throws (414-555).

The Crimson Hawks are led by Dallis Dillard who was named the PSAC West Division Athlete of the year and the D2CCA Atlantic Region Player of the Year. On the season, he averages 20.5 points with 6.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game.

He is joined by Christian Moore who averages 16.9 points while shooting .464 from the field while shooting .396 from three-point range. Kymani Merraro is IUP's other double-digit scorer with 11.7 points per game while averaging 3.4 assists.
