Fairmont State Drops Atlantic Regional Opener

STROUDSBURG, Pa. — Fairmont State University (37-14, 23-5) fell to East Stroudsburg University (37-19, 21-11) with a final score of 1-0 on Thursday at Creekview Park.

The game remained scoreless through the first three innings, with both teams unable to capitalize on their opportunities.

In the fourth inning, East Stroudsburg took the lead when Katie Master homered to left center, driving in the game's only run. The inning concluded with East Stroudsburg leading 1-0.

The Falcons managed to get runners on base in the fifth inning, as Jaylin McGill singled through the left side. However, they were unable to bring any runs across. The score remained 1-0 in favor of the Warriors.

Despite a solid effort on the mound by Delaney Haller, who pitched a complete game and allowed only one run, Fairmont State was held scoreless as the Warriors clinched the victory with a final score of 1-0.

Fairmont State will face the loser of the second game of the regional between No. 3 Kutztown and No. 6 West Chester. The game will take place on Friday, May 15 with a scheduled start time of 12:30 p.m.
