As A Freshman (2013): Made 11 appearances and five starts in the circle for the Falcons … had a 5-0 record and 4.43 ERA … pitched three complete games … struck out 27 batters in 44.2 innings … made FSU debut by pitching 1.2 innings at Winston-Salem State (2/15) … allowed just one hit in 3.1 innings of work at California, Pa. (3/11) … struck out six in his first career start to pick up the victory against Salem (3/30) … allowed just one hits as a reliever against West Liberty (4/6) … allowed just two runs in a complete game victory vs. WV Wesleyan (4/9) … retired five batters in seven innings to pick up the win at Charleston (4/17) … allowed just one run and three hits in a complete game against Concord (4/23) … allowed just three runs in a victory against Davis & Elkins in the WVIAC Playoffs (5/2).

Before Fairmont State: Four year starter and letter winner at Baldwin High School ... Quad A Section All-Star during senior season and received pitcher of the game honors in WPIAL All-Star game ... led WPIAL Quad A in strikeouts during his junior and senior seasons.

Personal: Nick Opferman ... son of Bob and Kathy Opferman ... wears No. 17 in memory of his grandmother ... majoring in Occupational Safety.
