Kedrick Whitehead Jr. enters his first season at Fairmont State as the program’s Cornerbacks Coach, bringing an accomplished playing career and extensive background in defensive back development and athlete performance.
A former University of Delaware defensive back, Whitehead was a three-year team captain and earned nine All-America honors during his collegiate career. Following college, he received an opportunity with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, signing after rookie minicamp and participating in fall camp with the organization before being waived due to injury at the conclusion of camp.
Whitehead continued his professional playing career with the Michigan Panthers of the UFL, where he earned All-Pro honors, served as a team captain, and was named the Panthers’ Special Teams Player of the Year in 2025.
In addition to his playing experience, Whitehead has worked extensively in sports performance and athlete development, helping athletes prepare for the collegiate and professional levels. His coaching philosophy emphasizes relationships, accountability, and developing dependable men both on and off the field.
Whitehead earned his bachelor’s degree in Health and Behavioral Sciences from the University of Delaware, with minors in Coaching Science and Public Health.
