Matt Perotti starts his first season on the Fairmont State football coaching staff in 2023. Perotti will be in charge of the outside linebackers for the Fighting Falcons.
Before arriving to Fairmont, Perotti was the head coach of the Alderson Broaddus sprint football team. During the 2022 season he led the Battlers to their first multi-win season and coached nine all-conference selections. He took over as the head coach of the sprint football team in 2021.
Perotti served in many roles for the Battlers' sprint football team. He was the team's defensive coordinator, linebackers coach, defensive backs coach and the recruiting coordinator since the program's inception. In 2019, Perotti mentored three players on the defensive side of the ball who received CSFL honors. Sam Solomon and Hosea Addison were named to the All-CSFL Second Team. Ty'Sean Tyler also received All-CSFL Honorable Mention under Perotti's watch that year.
Before Alderson Broaddus, Perotti coached at Torrington High School Torrington, Conn. as an offensive coordinator and a running backs/tight ends coach. With his help, the team's record improved from 3-7 to 7-3 in 2018.
Perotti played football at Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, N.H. and played safety. After he finished his playing career, Perotti began his coaching career as an offensive line and special teams coach at Franklin Pierce for two seasons.
Perotti is originally from North Canaan, Conn. and graduated from Housatonic Valley Regional High School. He played football, wrestling, skiing and baseball at HVRHS.
