Jackson Kelsheimer is in his second year as a graduate assistant for the Fairmont State men's basketball program under head coach Tim Koenig.
In 2022, Kelsheimer assisted Koenig as a graduate assistant to a 23-win season and fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance with Koenig as well. Kelsheimer served as an academic coordinator and assisted in lifting the men's basketball team's GPA to 3.4 on the year. He also assisted in statistical analysis, recruiting (identifying talent and hosting visits), film analysis and editing, operations (coordinating meals, laundry, managing supplies on road trips), camp recruitment, and skill development.
In 2021, Kelsheimer was the co-captain of the Fighting Falcons who won the Mountain East Conference Basketball Tournament.
In 2018-19, Kelsheimer led the Notre Dame College Falcons to a MEC Tournament Title and NCAA Tournament appearance (only MEC Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in Notre Dame College men's basketball program history).
Kelsheimer graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Regents Bachelor of Arts program with minors in History and Political Science. He is currently progressing through the Master of Arts in Education program, here at Fairmont State, to gain his teaching certification for grades, 7-12 in Social Studies.
At the AAU circuit, Kelsheimer has served as both an assistant and head coach for the Argento Basketball Club (9th and 11th-grade teams) in Cleveland, Ohio. He also led and directed a team of eight interns at The National Basketball Academy (TNBA) in Cleveland. His role at the TNBA included skill development with both college and professional athletes, directing tournaments and camps, and working with multiple youth AAU teams.
He has also worked youth instructional camps for the University of Iowa under head men's basketball Fran Mccaffery, Butler (Chris Holtmann/Lavall Jordan), The Ohio State University (Chris Holtmann), Providence College (Ed Cooley), The University of Buffalo (Nate Oats), and Purdue University (Matt Painter).
In his five-year collegiate career, Kelsheimer appeared in 70 games between Fairmont State University and Notre Dame College.
Kelsheimer was the founder of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) here at Fairmont State, a student-led Bible Study for athletes on campus.Â
He is the son of Jerry and Julie Kelsheimer. His sister, Grace, is on the diving team at Marshall University.
