- Three-sport standout at nearby Fairmont Senior High School (Soccer, Lacrosse, Swimming)
- Four-time all-conference selection - first team pick as a junior and senior
- Four-time all-state performer (freshman -Â second team; sophomore - honorable mention, junior and senior - first team)
- Two-time Writer's Association soccer standout
- Helped lead the Polar Bears to a state runner-up finish in 2012 and made it back to the semifinals in 2013
- Team captain as a junior and senior
- Scored 31 goals as a senior
- Played for former WVU assistant Nikki Goodenow as a club player for Mountaineer United Soccer Club - won seven state championships
- Also led club team to a Colonial League Championship and a third-place finish in the Premiere League
