Cody Jankowski joined the Fairmont State volleyball staff in the summer of 2018 and is entering his third season as Assistant Volleyball Coach. Jankowski joined the FSU program after spending time at Division II Lincoln Memorial and Division I Michigan State.

During his time at Fairmont State, Jankowski has helped four Falcon volleyball standouts garner MEC postseason honors, including a trio of selections following the 2019 season.

"I'm extremely excited to welcome Cody to the Falcon volleyball family," said Materazzi. "Cody has great energy and drive to impact the game. He is so passionate about volleyball and can really bring new ideas and training methods from his experience in the Big 10 and the men's game.

"Cody has already hit the ground running, establishing connections for recruiting and watching as much film as he can to gain knowledge of our team, conference and region."

Jankowski most recently served as an assistant coach for the men's volleyball program at Lincoln Memorial during the spring of 2018. This past spring, the Railsplitters finished the year with a 14-13 overall record and claimed the IVA Tournament Championship with wins over Queens and Coker in April. Jankowski assisted in the development of Pedro Carvalho, who earned third team All-America honors from VolleyMob following the season.

During the fall of 2017, Jankowski served as a volunteer assistant coach at Michigan State University, helping the Spartans to a 24-9 overall record and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Following the season, four Spartans earned All-America honors, including second team selections Autumn Bailey and Alyssa Garvelink.

Jankowski began his coaching career as a graduate assistant coach with the Lincoln Memorial University men's volleyball program in 2016-17, helping the Railsplitters kick off their inaugural varsity season. His duties at LMU included working with LMU's hitters and blockers, practice planning, travel management and game film.

"I would first and foremost like to thank Chad Fowler and Courtney along with the rest of Fairmont State Athletics for giving me the opportunity be a part of the department," said Jankowski. "I look forward to the future growth and success of the FSU volleyball program.

"I'm really excited for the opportunity and I'm ready to hit the ground running in coaching, learning from Courtney and our Falcon volleyball family. The Mountain East Conference and Atlantic Region are very competitive in volleyball. Our players will be competing amongst some of the best volleyball teams in NCAA Division II," Jankowski continued.

The Plainfield, Illinois native played collegiately for Culver-Stockton College in Missouri, where he was an outside hitter. He joined the team at CSC for their inaugural season in 2014 after a spending a year at Southeast Missouri State, where he played on the club team. At CSC he helped the squad go from their initial startup to a No. 3 NAIA national ranking during his career.

Jankowski graduated from Culver-Stockton College in 2016 with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Sport Management. He will pursue a master's degree at Fairmont State University.
