WHEELING, W.Va. -- Fairmont State's
Courtney Webb scored two goals on Sunday afternoon to help lift Fairmont State to a 2-1 victory over Wheeling Jesuit. The victory is the second-straight for the Falcons after Webb scored the only goal of the game on Friday to help Fairmont State get past Shepherd.
The winning goal came at the 72:15 mark when Webb scored on a shot from 20-yards out inside the top right corner of the goal. Her first goal of the game came at the 19:01 mark when Webb scored a quick goal following a foul called on WJU.
Along with Webb,
Alexa Reyes and
Colleen Newsome each had two shots for the Falcons.
Harley Boyd also recorded a shot on goal and
Shawna Graham recorded eight saves to pick up the win in the FSU net.
Wheeling Jesuit's goal was scored by Gabby Burchett at the 43:34 mark with an assist from Meghan Horan. The Cardinals held a 20-7 advantage in shots and were led offensively by Nikki Hillard with six total shots.
The Falcons will return home to host West Virginia Wesleyan on Thursday evening at Duvall-Rosier Field. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
