FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Sixth-ranked Wheeling Jesuit picked up a 3-0 conference victory (25-15, 25-14, 25-17) over Fairmont State in the battle of MEC unbeatens on Tuesday evening at Joe Retton Arena.

With the win, Wheeling Jesuit improves to 18-3 overall and 6-0 in the league. FSU slips to 13-6 overall and 5-1 in the MEC.

Erin Harwood was the only player in the match to reach double figure kills with 10. Harwood also chipped in 11 digs.
Mackenzie Harrison added seven kills and
Jessica Furda tallied a team-high 20 assists.
Julia Shemaitis (11) and
Megan Clerico (10) also reached double-digit digs.

Kayce Krucki, Lauran Graves and Sydney Obringer chipped in nine kills apiece for the Cardinals in the win. Krucki also added 18 digs and Jessica Thobe chipped in 14 to lead the WJU defense. Andrea Thobe nearly recorded a double-double with 35 assists and nine digs.

Wheeling had a .270 hitting percentage in the match, including a .417 mark in second set. The Cardinals also held an 8-3 advantage in blocking.

The Falcons will return to action on Friday evening when they travel to Charleston for a 7 p.m. match with the Golden Eagles.
