SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Fairmont State held off a late push by Shepherd, 64-60, to wrap up the No. 2 seed in next week's Mountain East Conference Tournament in Charleston.

The Falcons will open tournament play on Friday afternoon at noon against the winner of the Notre Dame College and West Virginia State opening round game on Tuesday evening.

With the win, FSU finished the regular season with a 19-9 overall record and a 16-6 mark in the Mountain East Conference. Shepherd wraps up the regular season with a 14-14 overall record and 9-13 mark in the league.

After FSU led by as many as 14 points early in the second half, Shepherd trimmed the advantage to just two points, 53-51, with 8:08 remaining in the game. The Falcons stopped the comeback with a quick 11-0 run, capped by a three from Morris, to push their lead back to 62-51 with just under six minutes remaining.
