BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- Fairmont State dropped a pair of Mountain East Conference games against West Liberty, 4-3, 9-0, on Saturday afternoon at the Bridgeport Recreation Complex.
With the sweep, the Hilltoppers improve to 15-7 overall and 11-5 in the league. Fairmont State slips to 3-15 overall and 3-13 in the MEC.

Jacob Whitmore on a sacrifice fly to record an unearned run for the Falcons. After WLU tied the game on an RBI double in the third, FSU used an RBI single by
Alex Levitan in the third and scored a run on an error by the West Liberty first baseman in the sixth to grab a 3-1 lead heading into the final inning of the game.
West Liberty rallied, however, scoring three runs after FSU recorded two outs in the seventh to go ahead 4-3 and grab the win in game one. Fairmont State committed both of its errors in the top of the seventh inning to prolong the inning for the Hilltoppers.
Game two was not as close as the 'Toppers recorded nine runs on 15 hits to roll to the shut-out victory over the Falcons. FSU was limited to just four hits and committed five errors in the 9-0 loss.
The Falcons and Hilltoppers will play the final two games of their four-game series on Sunday starting at 1 p.m. at the Bridgeport Recreation Complex.
