ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord scored three second-half goals to pick up a 3-0 conference victory over Fairmont State on Friday afternoon in Athens.
Fairmont State was limited to just six shots in the game, three of which were on goal. The Mountain Lions had 14 shots on goal in the victory.
Courtney Webb led the FSU attack with two shots while
Erica Uselton,
Harley Boyd, Colleen Newson, and
Alexis Lindsay each recorded one shot.
Shawna Graham played all 90 minutes in the FSU goal, recording
11 saves.
The game remained scoreless until 62 minutes in when Kari Simon fired a goal just inside the near post off a throw in from Emily Cole. Pilar Elias added two goals within two minutes to help CU seal the victory in the final seven minutes of regulation. Cole added an assist on each of Elias' goals, tallying three in the game.
The Falcons will be idle on Saturday before playing their home opener on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. against Wheeling Jesuit.
