FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Savannah Thomas's first half goal at the 14:31 mark helped Urbana get past Fairmont State, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon at Duvall-Rosier Field.
Thomas's goal was set up by Taylor Greene's pass in front of the net to set up the open shot. For the game, Urbana held a 34-8 advantage in shots and 8-1 advantage in corner kicks.
The Falcons had eight different players' record shots in the game and
Shawna Graham turned away 14 shots in the Fairmont State net.
Monica Tenorio led the Blue Knights with six shots while Brooke Kascianczuk and Thomas each tallied five. Taylor Gianangeli recorded four saves to pick-up the shutout victory in the UU net.
FSU will return to action on Wednesday night when they travel to Notre Dame College for a 4 p.m. match.
