SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- Fairmont State dropped a 3-2 decision at Notre Dame College in Mountain East Conference action on Wednesday afternoon. The game marks the first multiple-goal game in program history.
After NDC jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on a penalty kick in the 24
th minute,
Courtney Webb scored on a free kick into the upper left-hand corner of the goal to tie the game at a goal apiece.
Alexandria Gayle and Jillian Doss scored in the 40
th and 50
th minutes for Notre Dame to help build a two-goal advantage early in the second half.
Fairmont State's
Erica Uselton scored an assisted goal from
Breana Wright at the 60:11 mark to wrap up the scoring in the game.
FSU was outshot 25-6 in the loss, including a 19-4 margin in shots on goal.
Harley Boyd led the Falcon offense with three shots on goal in the game and Webb added two.
Shawna Graham recorded 16 saves in the FSU net.
The Falcons will return to action on Sunday evening when they travel to Alderson Broaddus for a 7 p.m. non-conference matchup.
