BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The Fairmont State women's soccer team played its first-ever Mountain East Conference match of the season on Tuesday evening at Culpepper Stadium in Buckhannon, falling to the Bobcats, 2-1, in overtime.

Erica Uselton scored the first goal of the season for FSU at the 13:45 mark with an unassisted goal over the top of the goal keeper. The Falcons held their 1-0 lead until the 68:33 mark when Rachel Ritchey of WVWC scored a goal assisted by Kelsie Hibbs to tie the game.
With the scored still tied after 90 minutes of action, the game went into overtime. At the 96:20 mark, Wesleyan ended the game with a goal Colette Biondi off a rebound from six yards out.
The Bobcats outshot the Falcons, 31-5, in the game, including a 17-3 advantage in shots on goal. WVWC also had 14 corner kicks on the evening.
Fairmont's goal-keeper,
Shawna Graham, recorded 15 saves in the victory, turning in a solid performance in the goal. Uselton led the FSU attack, recorded three of Fairmont State's five shots on goal.
The Falcons will return to action on Friday evening when they travel to Athens for a conference matchup with Concord, starting at 2 p.m.
