INSTITUTE, W.Va. -- Fairmont State raced out to a 20-point halftime lead en route to an 82-49 lopsided victory over West Virginia State on Tuesday evening at the Walker Convocation Center in Institute.

With the win, Fairmont's six-straight, the Falcons are now 11-3 overall and 5-3 in the Mountain East Conference. WV State falls to 6-8 overall and 4-4 in the league.

The Falcons had a balanced attack offensively with four players reaching double-figures.
Makenzie White scored a game-best 19 points to go along with nine rebounds, five assists and three steals. White shot 9-of-12 from the field.
Deidra Combs also chipped in 17 points and
Katie Nunan was two rebounds shy of a double-double with 14 points and eight boards.
Amanda Ruffner also reached double-digit scoring with 10 points and eight rebounds, scoring all of her points in the second half.

Emily Puskarich narrowly missed double-figures, scoring nine points on a trio of three-pointers and also passing out a team-best seven assists.

Fairmont State shot a sparkling 56.4 percent (31-of-55) from the field and nailed 7-of-11 three-point attempts in the victory. The Falcons also recorded 18 assists on 31 baskets and out-rebounded the Yellow Jackets by 23 in the win. In addition to the dominated the glass, FSU also outscored WVSU, 36-24 in the paint.

State was led by 18 points from Laura Szorenyi in the losing effort. Deyahnna Styles was the only other Yellow Jacket in double-figures, scoring 10 points and passing-out five assists. The Yellow Jackets shot just 32 percent from the field, including a 4-of-16 performance from three (4-of-16).

The Falcons will return home on Saturday afternoon when Notre Dame College comes to town for a 2 p.m. tip.
