BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- Fairmont State held West Virginia Wesleyan under 30 percent shooting from the field and forced 23 turnovers to roll to a 70-45 win on Monday evening at the Rockefeller Center.

With the win, the Falcons improve to 14-4 overall and 8-4 in the Mountain East Conference. WVWC falls to 2-13 overall and 1-11 in the league.

The Falcon defense stifled Wesleyan for a majority of the evening, allowing just 13 made field goals and holding the Bobcats to a dismal 28.3 percent (13-of-46) from the field. The Bobcats were also limited to just 2-of-12 from behind the arc.

The Falcons also turned 23 Wesleyan turnovers into 26 points on the opposite end.

On the offensive end, Fairmont State shot 51.7 percent from the field (30-of-58) and buried 6-of-14 three-point attempts. The Falcons were once again led by
Amanda Ruffner with 16 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the field.
Makenzie White and
Katie Nunan also reached double-figures with 10 apiece. White added six rebounds and seven assists to her stat line in the victory.

The Lady Falcons also tallied 22 assists on 30 made baskets and outscored the Bobcats in the paint, 40-16.

Wesleyan outrebounded FSU by six in the loss and held a 12-2 advantage in second-chance points. Tara Goldman led the Bobcats in scoring, finishing with 15 points and six rebounds. Mari Stewart was just shy of a double-double, chipping in eight points and 12 boards.

FSU will now head south to face Concord on Thursday evening. Tip is set for 5:30 p.m. in Athens.
