Â
Concord got to within a bucket at 68-66 with 8:10 to go, but the Falcons went on an 8-2 run over the next three minutes to help put the game away. Following that stretch, FSU didn't allow Concord to pull closer than six the rest of the way and eventually stretched its lead to double-digits and wrapped up the 90-78 win.

The Mountain Lions were limited to just 12 field-goals in the second half of the game, including a 1-of-11 performance from behind the arc. Concord shot 50 percent from the field and hit six threes in the opening half of the game. The FSU pressure defense also forced 20 turnovers, including 16 steals.

The defense also helped the Falcons create points on the offensive end as FSU held a 33-11 advantage in points-off turnovers.
Â
Offensively, the Falcons shot just under 50 percent from the field (34-of-70) and scored 50 points in the paint. FSU also scored 18 second-chance points in the win, despite being outrebounded by four (40-36).

Jamel Morris hit big shots all night for the Falcons, draining five three-pointers on his way to 21 points and
Thomas Wimbush scored 14 points and added seven rebounds after shooting 6-of-9 from the field.
The Falcons also got great play out of the point guard position in the victory as
Jason Jolly added eight points, a team-high five assists and four steals in extended minutes this evening. Starting point guard
Shammgod Wells also scored eight points and passed out four assists before missing time in the second half because of foul trouble. Six of Wells' eight points came in the final 1:02 of the game, including four critical free throws to close out the win for FSU.
Â
Terry Hopewell had a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead Concord. Rob Reed also had 18 points and six boards while Aaron Miller contributed 17 points.
