Wesleyan Records 2-0 Win Over FSU

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- West Virginia Wesleyan recorded 10 shots on goal, scoring twice, to defeat Fairmont State 2-0 on Thursday evening at Culpepper Field in Buckhannon.
 
With the loss, Fairmont State falls to 2-11-1 overall and 0-11-1 in conference play. The Bobcats improve to 9-1-3 overall and 8-1-3 in the league.
 
In total, the Bobcats took 24 shots in the victory, with 10 on target. Fairmont State was held without a shot. Wesleyan also held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
 
FSU goalkeeper Shawna Graham had a busy evening, recording eight saves in the FSU net.
 
Wesleyan's Audrey Barber scored from 15 yards out just three minutes into the game for the Bobcats and Haelly Ramirez put the game away with a goal off a deflection in the 66th minute.
 
The Falcons will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they travel to Concord for a 1 p.m. kickoff. FSU returns home next Thursday to host Urbana at 7 p.m.
