FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- The Fairmont State women's volleyball team rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat the University of Charleston, 3-2, on Friday evening at Joe Retton Arena (21-25, 19-25, 25-23, 25-19, 15-10).
In the victory, Fairmont's
Mackenzie Harrison went over 1,000 kills for her career. Harrison finished the evening with 22 kills, 17 digs and a .314 attacking percentage.
Harrison was joined in double-figures by
Rebecca Feeney with 13 kills and
Kayla Smith with 12. Feeney also drove home a team-high six blocks. The Falcons (13-8, 6-1 MEC) also got a solid performance from
Emma Mobley off the bench with six kills and five total blocks.
Jessica Furda recorded a double-double in the match, passing out 47 assists and recording 19 digs in the match.
Megan Clerico notched a team-high 23 digs.
UC (16-9, 6-1 MEC) held a 15-11 advantage in blocks, led by Jordan Wittekind with eight (two solo). Shiann White was the only Golden Eagle with double-figure kills, recording 15 to go along with 13 digs.
The Falcons will remain home for a 1 p.m. match against West Virginia State on Saturday afternoon starting at 1 p.m.
