FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- After winning the first set of the match, Fairmont State dropped three-straight and fell to West Liberty (23-25, 25-21, 25-17, 25-21) on Tuesday evening at Joe Retton Arena.

In the win, West Liberty held a 14-9 advantage in blocks and a 5-3 edge in service aces. The Hilltoppers also forced FSU into 33 errors compared to just 21 for WLU.

Mackenzie Harrison, the reining Mountain East Conference Player of the Week led by Falcons with 20 kills, 16 digs and five total blocks. The Falcons also got 10 kills from
Kayla Smith and eight from
Julia Shemaitis.

Jessica Furda dished out a team-high 37 assists in the match and
Megan Clerico recorded a team-high 34 digs to lead the Falcons defensively.

WLU had three players reach double-figures, led by Raimey Benson with 11. Stephanie Leonard recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 10 blocks for West Liberty. Amanda Leonard was the third Hilltopper to record double-figures, chipping in 10 kills in the match.

The Falcons will host nationally ranked and league-leading Wheeling Jesuit on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. inside Joe Retton Arena.
