Volleyball Falls In MEC Title Match

WHEELING, W.Va. – Fifth-ranked Wheeling Jesuit claimed its fourth-straight Mountain East Conference Tournament Championship on Saturday evening with a 3-0 win over Fairmont State (25-19, 25-20, 25-10).
 
In the match, Wheeling recorded a sizzling .438 attacking percentage by committing just five errors in the sweep. The Cardinals also held a 9-1 advantage in blocks.
 
Mackenzie Harrison finished the day with 15 kills and 10 digs, committing just two errors and recording an attacking percentage of .406. Senior Breanna Blot also reached double-figures with 12 kills. Jessica Fudra recording a team-high 36 assists.
 
Harrison and Furda were each named to the Mountain East Conference All-Tournament Team.
 
Wheeling was paced by Breanna Kramer with 15 kills and nine digs. Haley Kindall also reached double-digit kills with 11. Andrea Thobe tallied a team-high 42 assists and Kayce Krucki notched a team-best 14 digs.
 
The Falcons, who were ranked seventh in last week's Atlantic Regional Rankings, will now wait to see if they receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament during the NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Selection Show on Monday evening at 7:30 p.m.
