FEATURE: Hibbs, Guerra Leave Indelible Mark On FSU Grid Program

- No. 22 Fairmont State will battle Glenville State on Thursday evening in the annual "Battle for the Bit" at Duvall-Rosier Field. The game is the regular season finale for both teams and is senior day for the Fairmont State football team.

- The Falcon football program will honor 16 seniors prior to Thursday evening's game.

- Despite last weekend's loss at No. 3 Shepherd, the Falcons remained fourth in Super Region One and will look to lock up an opening round home game in the NCAA Division II Playoffs when the selections are announced on Sunday at 5 p.m. exclusively on NCAA.com. The Falcons also remained in the national rankings following last weekend's defeat, falling five sports to No. 22 in the AFCA poll.

- This Thursday's game is the Mountain East Conference "Thursday Night Game of the Week" and will be broadcasted live on WVMetroNews.com with the voice of the Fighting Falcons, Travis Jones, and Rasheed Marshall on the call.

- In addition, the game will be broadcasted live on the new radio home of Fairmont State Athletics, SKY 106.5 FM.

- Last season Fairmont rallied from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to claim a 28-24 win and end a five-game losing streak to the Pioneers in games played in Glenville.

- In the last 10 years GSC has owned its series with FSU winning seven of the 10 meetings, including a pair of games that went to overtime. However, Fairmont State has won the last two against the Pioneers.

- Historically the annual "Battle for the Bit" between the Falcons and Pioneers has been close. The average margin of victory in games played in the last 10 years has been just 8.9 points.

- The Falcons have won 15 of their last 18 games dating back to last season. All three of their losses during that stretch have come against teams in the national rankings.

- Fairmont State senior wide receiver Fabian Guerra is currently second all-time in career receiving yards at Fairmont State with 2,649. Guerra needs 437 yards to become the all-time school leader in receiving yards. The senior became the all-time school leader in receptions earlier this season with 216 (Jason Trent, 203).

- Laurence King is one of just seven players in NCAA Division II with a pair of kick return touchdowns this season. King is eighth in the country in kick return average (31.8).

- King is one of only three individuals in FSU history to catch 70 or more passes in a single season and his 72 receptions are the second-most in a single season by a Falcon receiver. He needs just four more receptions to break Mike Roscoe's 29-year old single-season school record for catches which is 75 and was set in 1987.

- Hibbs needs 192 more yards to move past Bryan Harman for second in school history in passing yards. The senior is also just three touchdown passes from also passing Harman for second all-time in that category.

- Fairmont's nationally-ranked defense is ranked fourth in the country in scoring defense (13.6) and seventh in forced turnovers (27). The Falcons are sixth in NCAA Division II in passes intercepted (18) and are 20th in the country in red-zone defense.

- The Falcon defense has limited nine of its ten opponents to 20 points or less this season (Shepherd, 27). FSU has also held three opponents without a touchdown this season (Concord, Alderson Broaddus and UVa-Wise).
