SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- Jamel Morris tied the school record and set a Mountain East Conference single-game record with 11 three-pointers to propel eighth-ranked Fairmont State to a 100-84 victory on the road at Notre Dame College on Saturday afternoon.

Morris also tied his collegiate career-high of 37 points in the win, going 13-of-25 from the field and 11-of-21 from three. Morris also scored 37 points against Salem back on Dec. 31, 2012 when he was a player at Glenville State. The senior two-guard also added six rebounds, two assists and three steals. Morris nailed eight of his threes in the second half to help FSU pull away with the win.

Fairmont State improves to 21-3 overall and 15-3 in the MEC. NDC drops to 16-8 overall and 10-8 in the league.

Caleb Davis was the only other FSU player to reach double-figures, totaling 13 points in the win.
Trevor Andrews-Evans chipped in seven points, four rebounds and two blocks and
Shammgod Wells passed-out 10 assists to go with his six points.

Tyree Gaiter led NDC with 27 points, including 16 in the first half of play. Will Vorhees was just shy of a triple-double with 17 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. KT Taylor, Nathan Kellum and Najeeb Johnson also reached double-figures off the bench for Notre Dame, scoring 11 points apiece. Kellum scored all of his points in the opening half.

Fairmont State scored 31 points off 19 Notre Dame turnovers and held a 42-32 advantage in the paint.

NDC led by as many as nine (21-12) at the 11:42 mark of the first half before the Falcons went on a 17-7 run over the next seven minutes to take the lead, 29-28, with 4:21 remaining in the half. The Falcons stretched their lead to six prior to halftime to take a 44-38 advantage into the locker room.

After four quick points by Notre Dame College to open the second half, FSU went on an 18-5 run to open up a 62-47 lead at the 14:33 mark. Morris helped lead the run by hitting three of his triples during the stretch. From that point, FSU held a double-digit advantage the rest of the game, including their largest lead of 21 points (89-68) at the 4:48 mark of the second half.

The Falcons will now return home for three-straight, starting with West Virginia State next Thursday evening. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m.
