Fairmont State WBB Notebook- The Fairmont State women's basketball team will play its final regular-season home game of the 2015-16 season on Thursday evening against Glenville State.
- Glenville State dealt Fairmont its first loss of the season back on Nov. 23 as the Pioneers rallied for an 89-76 win. The Pioneers outscored FSU 55-33 in the second half of the game.
- Fairmont State limited Glenville to just 28 percent from the field in the opening half and went into the locker room with a 43-34 advantage at the Waco Center. However, FSU turned the ball over 15 times and went 0-of-8 from three in the second half as GSC rallied for the win.
- The Falcons were strong inside during the first matchup as
Amanda Ruffner finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds and senior
Katie Nunan chipped in 16. The Falcons also got 12 points from
Gabrielle Etter and 11 from
Deidra Combs.
- The FSU women have locked up at least a home game during the opening round of next week's MEC Tournament. The Falcons will return to Joe Retton Arena on Tuesday, March 1 at 7 p.m.
- The Falcons have four players averaging double-figure scoring this season, led by
Amanda Ruffner at 15.4 points per game. Ruffner is also second on the team in rebounding (5.6) and blocked shots (23) and is shooting nearly 59 percnet from the field.
- Senior
Katie Nunan will be honored prior to today's game. Nunan is averaging 10.7 points and pulling-down 3.5 boards per game. The Fairmont standout is shooting 46 percent from the field and 81 percent from the line.

Emily Puskarich is leading FSU from behind the arc with 65 three-pointers this season. The junior also has 70 assists this season.

Deidra Combs is filling the stat sheet nightly for FSU, averaging 11.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and also has a team-leading 41 blocked shots and 56 steals.
Scouting Glenville StateThe Pioneers are coming-of a 101-100 overtime loss to West Liberty last Saturday afternoon. Clutch free throws in the final seconds of regulation and overtime by the Hilltoppers put Glenville State away late … GSC leads the MEC and Division II in scoring at 90.9 points per game … the Pioneers also lead DII in three-point field goals made per game (13.0) and are top five in steals per game (13.8), turnover margin (+9.15), offensive rebounding (19.0), turnovers forced (24.15) and total rebounds (48.04) … Brittany Jackson (13.5) and Paris McLeod (12.8) lead GSC in scoring this season … the Pioneers have nine players averaging at least five points per game and 13 different players have started a game this season.
Fairmont State MBB Notebook- The No. 5 Fairmont State men's basketball team will wrap up their home schedule tonight when Glenville State comes to town for a 7:30 p.m. tip on senior night.
- Prior to tonight's game, FSU will honor seniors
Jamel Morris and
Chris Lewis as they will play their final home game at Joe Retton Arena.
- In addition to being ranked fifth in this week's NABC Coaches Poll, the Falcons were also voted third in the Atlantic Region for the second-straight week.
- The two teams played back on Nov. 23 in their first meeting of the season, with FSU wearing down the Pioneers, 109-93 at the Waco Center. The Falcons held a 50-32 advantage in the paint and outrebounded Glenville, 44-33, in the win.
- The game was also very physical with 60 combined fouls and 84 free throws.

Matt Bingaya scored 22 points and
Caleb Davis added 20 in the first meeting against the Pioneers.
- Point guard
Shammgod Wells has moved into second in the MEC in assists-to-turnover ratio (2.84) this season. Wells has recorded double-digit assists in two of the last three games, including a school-record 19 against WV State last Thursday.
- Bingaya (18.3), Morris (13.7) and
Thomas Wimbush (10.8) are each averaging double-figure scoring for the Falcons this season. Bingaya is also averaging a team-high 6.8 rebounds and is currently 17th in the country in field-goal percentage (60.9).
- Both
Chase Connor and Morris are in the top 10 in the league in three-pointers made, with 75 and 74 respectivly. Morris hit 11 three-pointers two weeks ago against NDC before Connor broke the school record with 13 against State last Thursday.
- Senior
Jamel Morris has 1,838 career points (including GSC) and is currently the 10th-highest active scorer in NCAA Division II.
- Trevor Andrews-Evens is currently 16th on the active blocked shot list in NCAA Division II with 150 in his career.
Scouting the PioneersGlenville State is 3-3 in the month of February but are coming-off a 114-75 setback to West Liberty last Saturday … GSC is averaging 80.2 points per game while giving up 85.7 per game … the Pioneers are 39th in Division II in three-point field goals per game (9.5) … Sedric Nady (18.1), Brett Morris (16.0), and Jalon Plummer (13.6) all average double-figure scoring for Glenville State … Morris also leads the team in rebounding at 6.4 boards per game and scored a game-high 28 points back in Nov. when the teams met at the Waco Center.
