WHEELING, W.Va. -- Wheeling Jesuit made its last six finals goals of the game over the final 4:27 to close out Fairmont State, 91-82, on Saturday evening at the McDonough Center.

With the win, Wheeling Jesuit remains in sole possession of first place in the Mountain East Conference and improves to 22-1 overall and 15-1 in the league. The Falcons fall to 19-3 overall and 13-3 in the league.

Matt Bingaya went over 20 points for the 12
th time this season, finishing with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Senior
Jamel Morris added 18 points and a team-high four assists and
Thomas Wimbush and
Jason Jolly scored 16 apiece. The Falcons got just seven points from their bench in the game.

Fairmont State shot 39.7 percent from the field (23-of-58) and also shot 39.3 percent from three (11-of-28). FSU shot 80.6 percent from the free throw line (25-of-31).

Wheeling Jesuit had a strong second half, shooting a scorching 66.7 percent from the field and scoring 55 points to turn a three-point halftime deficit into a nine-point win. The Cardinals also shot 8-of-16 from three (50%) and outrebounded the Falcons, 38-36. WJU had 17 assists on 29 field goals and turned the ball over just 10 times.

Wheeling Jesuit scored 25 points from the free throw line on 38 attempts (65.8%) as the teams combined for 47 fouls.

The Cardinals were led by Kyle Ritz and Pat Moseh with 19 points apiece. Justin Fritts added 18 points off the bench and Eric Siefert chipped in 17, going 3-of-5 from three. Haywood Highsmith was limited to six points but pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds.

The Falcons will now prepare for their Ohio road trip, starting Thursday evening at Urbana. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m.
