ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Flagler College was too much for Fairmont State on Tuesday afternoon, taking two from the Falcons to wrap-up the Florida road trip for FSU over spring break.
Flagler picked up a 15-1 victory in game one and a 15-6 win in game two to improve to 11-11 on the season. The Falcons will open MEC play next weekend with a 9-6 overall record, already matching last season's win total of nine victories.
The Falcons got multiple hit performances from Adam Meeker and Austin Norman in game one of the doubleheader against Flagler. Jacob Whitmore and Cole Smith also recorded hits in the game.
Norman hit his fifth home run and fourth double of the season in game two against Flagler, going 2-of-3 with two RBI in the game. Fraser Brown and Josh Wine also had multiple hits in the second game.
In addition to Norman's home run and double, Brown, Ted Sova and Maverick Keller also recorded doubles for the Falcons.
Fairmont State will open MEC play on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. when they travel to West Virginia Wesleyan College for a twin bill.
