JOHNSTOWN, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown topped the Fairmont State baseball team, 12-5, on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action. UPJ used a four-run first inning to gain an early lead and pushed their advantage to 6-2 after four innings.

The Falcons slip to 7-2 on the season with the loss. UPJ improves to 5-7.

Phil Longnecker to cut the Mountain Cat lead in half.

FSU was unable to score a run in the next four innings, allowing the 'Cats to jump ahead with a 9-2 lead after three runs in the sixth.

Greg Yaksich and Josh run drove in a couple runs in the seventh and
Alex Levitan drilled his second home run of the season in the eight to put three more FSU runs up, but it was too little too late as UPJ wrapped up the 12-5 win.

The Falcons will travel to Cocoa Beach, Fla. on Friday to compete in the Cocoa Expo Spring Tournament over spring break.
