WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. -- West Liberty built a 2-0 lead just 17 minutes into Thursday's Mountain East Conference soccer matchup with Fairmont State and added a goal late to pick up a 3-0 victory over the Falcons.
 
West Liberty's Kaelyn Oskin recorded a hat-trick in the West Liberty victory, striking just :34 seconds into the game with a goal assisted by Emily Evans. Oskin gave the 'Toppers a 2-0 advantage at the 17:45 mark with goal from the center of the field, assisted by Allie Roberts.
 
Oskin's third goal came early in the 60^th minute when Thanna Oddo assisted on the final goal of the game.
 
Both teams tallied 11 shots in the game, with WLU holding a 7-3 advantage in shots on goal.
 
Abigail Pasierb, Stephanie DeLawder and Samantha Buffey each recorded shots on goal for the Falcons.
 
FSU goalkeeper Shawna Graham recorded four saves on seven on-target shots she faced.
 
The Falcons will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they travel to Urbana for a 1 p.m. opening kickoff.
