FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Fairmont State and Shepherd battled to a scoreless draw on Thursday afternoon to open a doubleheader of action at Duvall-Rosier Field in Fairmont. The Falcon football team will host the second-ranked Rams this evening at 7 p.m. in Mountain East Conference football action.

The draw was the fifth of the season for both the Falcons (4-4-5) and Rams (4-3-5). Earlier this season, FSU and Shepherd battled to a 1-1 draw in Shepherdstown (9/24/17).

The Rams held a 15-8 advantage in shots, including a 7-3 advantage in shots that were on the mark. Shepherd also held a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Breana Wright paced the FSU offense with two shot apiece.

FSU will return to Duvall-Rosier Field on Sunday afternoon for a 2 p.m. tilt against Notre Dame College.
