WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – Fairmont State closed out West Liberty in a thrilling five-set match (25-17, 25-23, 23-25, 23-25, 15-13) on Friday evening at the ASRC, helping the Falcons improve to 17-6 overall and 8-2 in Mountain East Conference matches. Four of the five sets were decided by just two points.
Mackenzie Harrison continued her standout season on the right side for the Falcons with 26 kills, 14 digs and eight block assists in the match.
Emma Mobley and
Taylor Wisniewski also added double-figure kills in the win, tallying 11 apiece.
Morgan Poling added seven kills and a team-high nine blocks around the net for the FSU offense.

Sydney McCoy (10) joined Harrison with double-digit digs for the FSU defense.
Alexa Gore paced the Falcons offense with 51 assists to go along with eight digs in the match.
The Falcons finished the evening with a .257 attacking percentage, committing eight fewer turnovers than West Liberty. FSU also held a 13-9 advantage in blocks.
Amanda Leonard paced the WLU attack with 14 kills in the narrow five-set loss for the Hilltoppers (16-11, 7-5 MEC).
FSU will return to action on Saturday afternoon with a 1 p.m. matchup at No. 23 Wheeling Jesuit.
