FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Fairmont State held Salem under 30 percent from the field and used a balanced offensive attack to pick up a 76-54 victory in the final non-conference game of the season for the Falcons on Monday evening.
Fairmont State (10-10 overall) shot just under 50 percent from the field and drained eight 3-pointers in the win. The Falcons also finished the game with a 45-37 advantage on the glass.
Sierra Kotchman and
Hope Bray paced the FSU offense with 11 points apiece in the win. The Falcons also got nine points and five assists from
Brooke Kurucz and nine points and a team-high 12 rebounds from
Kelli Jo Harrison on the evening.
Ozge Yarga and
Josie Daugherty also added eight points apiece and
Presley Tuttle notched six more for the Falcons. Eleven different players recorded a basket in the victory for the Lady Falcons.
Fairmont State also tallied 16 assists on 30 made baskets.
Aaliyah Dotson and Isis Mance each reached double figures for the Tigers with 13 points apiece. Christy Gonzalez also finished just shy of a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds.
The Falcons will remain at home for an MEC matchup against Urbana University on Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m.
