Fairmont State Wraps Up Home Stand Wednesday

- Fairmont State will return to action for the first time since Monday, Nov. 19 when league-leading Glenville State comes to town for a 5:30 p.m. tip.

- The Falcons, 1-4 on the season, will be looking to snap a three-game skid on Wednesday evening. In their last outing, the Falcons dropped an 84-78 decision against West Virginia State at Joe Retton Arena.

- Junior forward Rachel Laskody scored a career-high 15 points and pulled down 14 boards to lead the Falcons in the setback. Fairmont State outrebounded the Yellow Jackets 54-48, including 18 offensive rebounds in the game. The 54 rebounds were a season-high for the Falcons.

- GSC holds a 38-29 overall record in the all-time series between the programs. Glenville State has won four-straight meetings in the series, with Fairmont's last win coming back on Nov. 21, 2016 – a 96-92 home victory.

- In Fairmont's last matchup against the Pioneers, the Falcons dropped an 83-69 contest in the semifinal round of the MEC Tournament. Sierra Kotchman led the Falcons with 21 points in the contest.

- Wednesday will be Fairmont's sixth home game in a row. The Falcons will hit the road for the first time this season on Saturday with a matchup at West Virginia Wesleyan.

- Three players are averaging double-figures for the Falcons this season, led by Kotchman at 15.6 points per game. Brooke Kurucz is just behind Kotchman, averaging 15.2 points per game this season.

- Laskody is leading the Falcons in the post this season, averaging 10.6 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. Laskody has reached double-figures in three games this season and has pulled down at least eight rebounds in the last three games.

- The Falcons have struggled from the field, shooting under 36 percent in each of the last three games. Fairmont State has also shot under 27 percent from behind the arc in all five games this season.

- Brooke Kurucz has reached double-figures in every game for the Falcons this season, including a season-high 19 points against Lock Haven and Gannon.
 

Fairmont State MBB Notebook

- The Fairmont State men will be looking for their fifth-straight win on Wednesday against Glenville State in Mountain East Conference action at Joe Retton Arena.

- The Falcons improved to 4-0 in league play with a 94-76 victory over West Virginia State last Monday at Joe Retton Arena. Fairmont State hit a season-high 18 3-pointers in Monday's win over WVSU, with 14 of the 18 threes coming in the second half of the game.

- Jason Jolly led the Falcons with 28 points on 8-of-14 shooting from behind the arc in the victory. Jolly has reached double-figures in five of six games this season, including two performances of 30 points or more this season.

- Jolly has scored at least 27 points in each of the last three games.

- Wednesday will be the 157th meeting between Fairmont State and Glenville State in a series that began back in 1925. The Falcons hold a 98-58 advantage in the all-time series. Fairmont State has won the last six games in the series, with the last Glenville State win coming back on March 8, 2015 in the MEC Tournament Championship Game in Charleston.

- Through five games this season, Jolly is leading the Falcons in scoring averaging 25.2 points per game this season. Jolly currently ranks eighth in the country in points per game (25.2), first in the country in 3-point field goals per game (4.8), and 29th in the country in total field goals made (47) this season.

- Cole VonHandorf has reached double-figures in five-straight games, including 16 points in last Monday's win over West Virginia State, and a season-high 18 points in Fairmont's win over California (PA) on Nov. 9. VonHandorf is currently second on the team in scoring at 12.5 points per game.

- Senior Vonte Montgomery is third on the team in scoring at 11.8 points per game this season. Montgomery scored a season-high 21 points in Fairmont State's win over WVSU last Monday.

- Montgomery needs just 18 more points to become the 49th player in school history to go over 1,000 career points.
