CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Taylor Wisniewski and
Rebecca Feeney led the Fairmont State volleyball team to a 3-0 victory (25-22, 25-22, 25-19) over the University of Charleston on Saturday afternoon in Mountain East Conference action.

Wisniewski recorded a team-high 11 kills and two blocks, while Feeney finished the match with eight kills and seven total blocks (2 solo). The duo combined for just one error in the victory.

With the victory, Fairmont State improves to 9-11 overall and 2-5 in the MEC. Charleston falls to 8-15 overall and 2-5 in league matches.

As a team, the Falcons recorded a .295 hitting percentage and held a 9-4 advantage in blocks and an 8-4 advantage in service aces.

In addition to Wisniewski and Feeney, the Falcons also got six kills, 10 digs and three blocks from
Julia DiPaola.

Bryce Knapp paced the Falcons defensively with 14 digs. Lily Keber and
Kelsey Moeller paced the Fairmont State attack with 16 and 15 assists, respectively.

Fairmont State transfer Brianna Washburn led the Golden Eagles with eight kills and two blocks. Jaxin Melby added eight kills for UC, while Janeese VerVelde drove home seven kills.

Fairmont State will step out of conference play on Tuesday evening with a match at Seton Hill. Opening serve is set for 7 p.m. in Greensburg.
