FROSTBURG, Md. -- After Fairmont State opened up an early lead with a 25-19 win in the opening set, Frostburg State rallied to win the next three sets (25-19, 25-20, 25-21) and earned its first conference victory on Tuesday night in Mountain East Conference action.

With the win, Frostburg State moves to 8-8 overall and 1-4 in MEC play. Fairmont State fell to 7-10 overall and 1-4 in the league following the setback.

Fairmont State had two players with double-figures kills on Tuesday evening, including
Amelia Moore with 13 and
Rebecca Feeney with 11. Feeney finished the match with a .450 hitting percentage and also chipped in three blocks solos on the evening.
Julia DiPaola also chipped in eight kills and 15 digs, and
Keara Lewis filled the stat sheet with seven kills, 15 digs and two total blocks.
Taylor Wisniewski also had a strong performance around the net with five kills and five total blocks (2 solo).

Fairmont State held an 8-5 advantage in total blocks.

Lily Keber and
Kelsey Moeller paced the Fairmont State offense with 20 and 18 assists, respectively, while
Bryce Knapp led the Falcons defensively with 12 digs, four assists and three aces.

Jackie Sterenberg led Frostburg State in the victory with 19 kills to go with 16 digs, and Haley Altemus also reached double-digit kills with 12. Sterenberg had a .410 attacking percentage in the victory.

The Falcons will now be idle until Tuesday, Oct. 15 when Alderson Broaddus visits Joe Retton Arena for a non-conference match. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
