Falcons Sweep Frostburg State, 3-0

FAIRMONT, W.Va. – Fairmont State swept Frostburg State in Mountain East Conference volleyball action (25-12, 25-21, 25-20) on Tuesday at Joe Retton Arena.
 
With the victory, Fairmont State has improved to 14-14 overall and 7-7 in MEC play. The win also clinches a spot in next week's MEC Volleyball Tournament for the Falcons, who are currently in a tie for sixth-place in the conference standings. Frostburg State falls to 11-15 overall and 3-11 in conference play.
 
Fairmont State held an advantage in all aspect of the match of Tuesday night, recording a .304 hitting percentage with just 12 errors during the win. The Falcons also held a 9-1 advantage in blocks, and a 9-4 edge in service aces.
 
Frostburg, on the other hand, managed just a .133 hitting percentage with 30 kills and 16 total errors.
 
Rebecca Feeney paced the Falcons in the victory with 13 kills and six total blocks, as the senior committed just one error in the win. Ameilia Moore also chipped in 10 kills, five digs and four block assists for the Falcons. Julia DiPaola just missed a double-double with nine kills and 12 digs in the win.
 
Lily Keber paced the Fairmont State attack with 44 assists in the victory. Bryce Knapp recorded a team-high 19 digs defensively for the Falcons.
 
Haley Altemus paced Frostburg State in the setback with 10 kills and eight digs.
 
Fairmont State will remain at home to host Urbana University on Friday evening at Joe Retton Arena. Opening serve is set for 5 p.m.
