FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Seton Hill wrapped up a 2-0 weekend at the 2019 MEC/PSAC Challenge with a 93-73 victory over host Fairmont State on Saturday evening at Dan Cava Court inside Joe Retton Arena.

The Falcons were unable to recover from a dismal shooting performance in the second quarter as the Griffins took control and led by as many as 32 points late in the contest. The Falcons shot just 2-of-18 from the field (11.1%) in the second quarter as the Seton Hill was able to stretch a five-point first quarter lead to a 44-30 advantage at the break.

Seton Hill put the game away and added to its lead in the second half after shooting 52.6 percent (10-of-19) in the third quarter, and 52.9 percent (9-of-17) in the fourth quarter.

The Griffins also held a 58-32 advantage on the glass and made 15 three-pointers in the win.

Fairmont State had four double-figure scorers in the setback, led by 18 points and eight rebounds from
Sierra Kotchman. The Falcons also got 13 points and four steals from
Presley Tuttle, and 10 points apiece from
Kamrin Weimer and
Brooke Kurucz.

Five players reached double figures for the Griffins, led by 18 points and 14 rebounds from Tiana Stewart. SHU also got 11 points from Kelly Weeks.

Fairmont State will return to action on Wednesday evening with a key Atlantic Region showdown at Gannon University. Tip is set for 6 p.m.
