FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Fairmont State drained 13 three-pointers and scored 21 points off turnovers in a 93-66 runaway victory over the University of Virginia's College at Wise on Thursday evening at Joe Retton Arena.

The Falcons trailed just once in the game and also outscored the Cavs 38-26 in the paint and held a 50-41 rebounding advantage in the win.

The win improves Fairmont State to 17-6 overall and 14-3 in Mountain East Conference play. UVa-Wise falls to 7-16 overall and 4-13 in league play.

Five players reached double-figures for the Falcons, including a game-high 21 points and nine rebounds from senior
Vonte Montgomery. The Falcons also got 15 points from
Kenzie Melko-Marshall and 12 apiece from
Jason Jolly and
Andrew Emrick.
Ron Alston also chipped in a season-high 10 points and eight rebounds in the win.

Fairmont State passed out 20 assists on 33 made baskets, while turning the ball over just 10 times in the win. The Falcons shot nearly 46 percent from the field.

Two players reached double-figures for the Cavs, including 17 points from Briggs Parris, and 10 from Cameron Whiteside. The Cavs shot just 35 percent from the field and turned the ball over 17 times in the loss.

The Falcons will remain at home on Saturday afternoon for a 4 p.m. conference matchup against Concord inside Joe Retton Arena.
