FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Fairmont State scored a 9.50 or higher in 12 heats and rolled to a 273.370-261.730 victory over Glenville State on Wednesday evening at Joe Retton Arena.
 
The Falcons won five of the six events, with the teams tying in the pyramid event, 29.55-29.55. Fairmont State scored a perfect-10 in the inversion pyramid for the first time this season, and also added a 9.95 in the open pyramid. In five meets this season, the Falcons have three perfect-10's and a pair of 9.95's in the open pyramid.
 
The Falcons opened up nearly a five-point advantage (97.15-92.30) in the opening half, thanks in large part to a 38.30-34.70 scoring advantage in the compulsory event. The Falcons scored a 9.75 in the acro heat, a 9.80 in the pyramid heat, and a 9.95 in the toss heat.
 
The Falcons also scored a 9.70 or higher in each of the acro heats, including an event-high 9.85 in the five-element acro.
 
To open the second half, the Falcons also put together a solid performance in the toss event, scoring a 9.25 out of 9.40 in the 450 salto toss, and a 9.50 out of 9.60 in the open toss.
 
In tumbling, the Falcons once again shined in the trio of individual passes, as Karah Naples scored a 9.475 in the aerial pass, Catherine Reynolds scored a 9.9 out of 10 in the six-element pass, and Alexis Smith added a 9.775 in the open pass. The Falcons added three points to their lead after turning in a 54.500-51.350 advantage in the tumbling event.
 
Fairmont State wrapped up the meet with a 93.82 in team event to close out the lopsided win.
 
Fairmont State will return to action next Saturday during a tri-meet against West Virginia Wesleyan and Davis & Elkins on senior day. Start time is set for 2 p.m.
