GREENSBURG, Pa. -- Fairmont State and Seton Hill split a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon, with the Falcons taking game one by a score of 6-2, before the Griffins notched a 9-1 win in game two.

Following the doubleheader, the Falcons are now 12-10 on the season. Seton Hill falls to 13-9.

Hannah Absalom (9-2) allowed just two runs on seven hits and struck out four batters to pick up the win on Wednesday afternoon in game one. The win gives her a league-high nine wins this season.

Fairmont State took control of the game early by outscoring SHU 6-0 in the first three innings of play.
Courtney Worcester put the Falcons on the board first on a single through the ride side that scored
Carly Clarke to make the score 1-0. Later in the inning with
Jenny Stubbs at third and Worcester at first, Stubbs scored following a steal attempt by Worcester from first to second to make the score 2-0.

In the third inning, Worcester drove in her second run of the game on a single into center field that plated Stubbs for the second time in the game. Two batters later,
Heidi Hormell also singled into center field to drive home Worcester for Fairmont's fourth run of the game.

Later in the third inning,
Andie Baughman hammered a triple off the fence in left center field to bring home two more runs and give the Falcons a commanding 6-0 advantage.

Seton Hill added two runs late in the game to make the final score 6-2 in favor of the Falcons.

The script flipped in game two, as Seton Hill scored nine unanswered runs to pick up a 9-1 win in five innings.

Fairmont State got on the board in the top of the first inning during game two, as
Kadi Cosgrove singled up the middle to bring home Stubbs for Fairmont's only run of the game.

Fairmont State struggled at the plate in game two with just four hits, compared to 13 for the Griffins. SHU also had four extra-base hits in the game two win, compared to just one for the Falcons.
