FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Seventh-ranked Fairmont State swept all six events and outscored Davis & Elkins in all but two heats on Thursday evening, as the Falcons improved to 4-0 on the season with a 263.435-238.740 victory over the Senators in Mountain East Conference action at Joe Retton Arena.

Fairmont State opened up more than a six-point advantage following the compulsory event, scoring a 9.45 in the pyramid heat and a 9.75 in the toss heat to grab an early lead. The Falcons also won by a wide margin in the acro event to take a double-digit advantage after just two events. A meet-high score of 9.85 in the five-element acro highlighted the event for the Falcons.

Fairmont State wrapped up the first half with another strong performance in the pyramid event to take a 92.80-77.20 lead into halftime. The Falcons scored a 9.75 in the inversion pyramid and a 9.85 in the open pyramid to highlight the event.

To open the second half, the Falcons put together a clean performance in the three toss heats, scoring a 9.10 out of 9.40 in the 450 salto, an 8.75 out of 9.0 in the synchronized toss, and an 8.80 out of 9.25 in the open toss. FSU held a 26.65-24.95 advantage in the event.

Fairmont State also added nearly four points to its lead in the tumbling event after a strong performance in the three individual passes. The Falcons recorded a 9.375 in the aerial pass, a 9.20 in the six-element pass, and a 9.550 in the open pass.

Fairmont State wrapped up its performance with a 91.51 in team event on Thursday afternoon.

Fairmont State will now prepare for a March 14 road meet against No. 3 Quinnipiac. The meet is set for a 1 p.m. start in Hamden, Conn.
