FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Fairmont State women's volleyball battled back to earn a five-set victory over the University of Charleston, 21-25,25-23,13-25,25-18,15-12, in Mountain East Conference action inside Joe Retton Arena.

Kelsey Moeller were all honored prior to first serve for Fairmont State.
The Falcons improve to 18-8 on the season and 8-4 in MEC play while the Golden Eagles are now 15-9 and 7-5 in conference.
Charleston outhit Fairmont .270 to .190 in the five sets and the Golden Eagles tallied 65 kills to the Falcons' 62.
In the first set, each side traded points throughout before Charleston grabbed a five-point advantage off five consecutive points and earned the 25-21 set victory.
The Falcons went not down go easily as they battled back to tie the match at one set apiece with a 25-23 set win with
Keara Lewis notching the last point off a kill for Fairmont.
With the match knotted at one set each, the Golden Eagles claimed the third set with two big rallies starting at 10-7 and and 19-10 to take ahold of the third set. Charleston held the advantage throughout the third and were in favor 25-13.
In the fourth set, Fairmont rallied again to force a fifth and decisive set as Lewis had back-to-back kills to edge ahead of the Golden Eagles 9-7 and the Falcons never let Charleston regain the lead. Lewis finished another kill of an assist by
Lilianna Keber as Fairmont took the set, 25-18.
For the final set, Fairmont looked to carry the momentum as Keber started the set with a service ace and the Falcons pushed the lead to 5-2. Charleston answered with three consecutive points and took the lead, 8-6, after a kill by Jenae Thomas. The Falcons went on a 5-0 run to regain the lead in the decisive set,13-9, and held on for the 15-12 set victory.
Lewis racked up another double-double on the season with a team-high 17 kills and 11 digs in the contest. DiPaola joined Lewis as she added 12 kills and 18 kills on the afternoon. DiPaola guided the team with two service aces as well.
Emma Ludwig followed her teammates with 12 crucial kills and a match-high six blocks.
Keber paced the offense with 46 assists and contributed 24 digs on the defensive end. Moeller eclipsed double digits in digs with 10 inside Joe Retton Arena.
For Charleston, Sage Bearnson led the attack with 20 kills as Jenae Thomas and Mackenzie Carpenter chipped 15 and 11 kills, respectively. Maria Hernandez piloted the Golden Eagles' offense with a match-high 57 assists.
Madison Jackson collected 23 digs in five sets for UC and Hernandez and McKenzie Damon followed with 18 and 17 digs.
Fairmont State (18-8, 8-4 MEC) looks to build off their win today as they welcome Notre Dame College (15-12, 6-6 MEC) on Tuesday, November 2nd inside Joe Retton Arena. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. in MEC action.
