WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. -- Fairmont State women's volleyball looked to maintain their winning streak but were held in check on Tuesday evening as West Liberty earned the three-set sweep over the Fighting Falcons (25-19, 25-18,25-21).
Fairmont State is now 20-9 overall and 10-5 in Mountain East Conference action while the Hilltoppers imrpove to 20-11 and 11-4 in MEC play.
WLU outhit Fairmont State on the night .200-.080 inside the ASRC and the Hilltoppers tallied 38 kills to the Falcons' 32.
Lilianna Keber led the Falcons on the night with 22 assists and 12 digs in the match and added a service ace.
Keara Lewis and Amelia each collected eight kills on the evening with
Emma Ludwig netting seven kills in three sets played.
Julia DiPaola followed Keber's 12 digs with 10 digs of her own and recorded four kills with two service aces in the match.
The Falcons (20-9,10-5 MEC) return to Joe Retton Arena for their regular-season finale on Thursday, November 11th when they host Frostburg State (8-18, 5-9 MEC). First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. for the MEC match.
