FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- No. 7-ranked Fairmont State wrapped up a 5-0 regular season and clinched the Mountain East Conference Regular Season Championship with a tri-meet victory over Frostburg State (266.645-254.525) and Davis & Elkins (266.645-248.415) on Saturday evening at Joe Retton Arena.

The Falcons scored a season-high 266.645 in the meet and will be the top-seed in next week's Mountain East Conference Tournament, which will be hosted by Fairmont State inside Joe Retton Arena. The event is set for Friday, April 9 with the semifinals, and Saturday, April 10 with individual event finals and the tournament championship meet.

The Falcons won all six events during the meet, and were only outscored by an opponent seven times in individual heats all evening.

Fairmont State grabbed over a four-point advantage after just one event by scoring a 9.65 in the compulsory pyramid and a 9.80 in the compulsory toss. In the acro event, Fairmont State suffered just 0.70 in dedications, including a meet-high score of 9.95 in the five-element acro heat.

The Falcons limited their dedications to just 0.35 in the pyramid event, with a 9.80 in the inversion, a 9.75 in the synchronized heat, and a 9.90 in the open heat.

Fairmont State's second-half performance was highlighted by a win in the tumbling event, which was headlined by a 9.825 score by senior
Alexis Smith in the open pass. The Falcons also scored an 8.20 out of a possible 8.50 in the quad pass during the tumbling event.

Fairmont State wrapped up the meet by scoring a 93.22 in team event to add to its final margin of victory.

Following the team event performance, the Fairmont State Acrobatics & Tumbling program also honored four seniors that competed in their final regular season meet at Joe Retton Arena on Saturday, including
Gabriela Lesko,
Alexis Smith,
Ansley Froman and
Kandyce Blocker.

Final seedings and matchups for next week's MEC Tournament will be announced on Monday by the league office.
