Fairmont State swept day two of the Malone University Volleyball Hall of Fame City Challenge in Canton, Ohio Saturday with a pair of wins against Slippery Rock (25-22, 25-30, 25-19) and Malone University (25-23, 25-13, 25-22).

Match 1 – Fairmont State vs. Slippery Rock

The Falcons set the tone for the day with a 3-0 victory over Slippery Rock.Â

Junior
Bryce Knapp shined defensively, recording 26 digs while senior
Julia DiPaola earned a double-double, contributing 11 kills and 13 digs. Senior setter
Lilianna Keber aided the Falcons with 25 assists and two blocks, while senior
Emily Cordle and sophomore
Emma Ludwig each added three blocks and juniorÂ
Amelia Moore added two.Â

Match 2 – Fairmont State vs. MaloneÂ
Â
Fairmont State took the final match of the tournament with another 3-0 sweep over host, Malone University. The Fighting Falcons hit .228 against the Pioneers.

DiPaola led the team with 11 kills, while junior
Madison Chapman recorded 10 and Moore chipped in eight. FreshmanÂ
Karli Edwards contributed two aces to the Falcons' offense and DiPaola added one. Keber showcased her consistency and reliability, recording 31 more assists to bring her career total to 2,000.

Defensively, DiPaola aided the Falcons with 12 digs, while senior
Kelsey Moeller and Knapp added 11 apiece. Cordle and Chapman each recorded four blocks, and Ludwig contributed two.Â

The Falcons will begin the Atlantic Region Volleyball Crossover, hosted in Wheeling, W.Va., at 3 p.m. Friday, September 17 when they take the court against Bloomsburg University.Â
