BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- 78 Fairmont State student-athletes were named to the Mountain East Conference All-Academic and Commissioner's Honor Roll announced by the conference on Thursday afternoon.

44 Fighting Falcons garnered the All-MEC accolade with 34 Falcons being named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll today.

To be named to the MEC All-Academic Team, the student-athlete must be a member of the active roster and have a grade-point average of 3.70-4.00 in the semester of their championship season. To qualify for the Commissioner's Honor Roll, a student-athlete must be a member of the active roster and post a grade point average between 3.25-3.69 in the semester of their championship season. 

Over 1,100 student-athletes were recognized by the MEC, with more than half that earned Academic All-MEC honors (3.70 or higher) in their respective sports.

The MEC's winter and spring sport All-Academic Teams will be announced following the conclusion of their respective championship seasons.
